Aubrey Beskid is in her final semester at Arizona State University. Below, Aubrey reminisces on her time as a Sun Devil and her future plans.
Aubrey is from Hershey, Pennsylvania and will graduate with a Bachelor's in Criminology and Criminal Justice.
Talk about your experience playing hockey at ASU.
A: Playing hockey at ASU was a super fun experience! ASU Hockey gave a competitive hockey environment that allowed me the chance to play a high level of hockey. Another experience of playing hockey at ASU that was amazing was the ability to go play games while traveling all across the country!
What is your favorite thing about playing hockey at ASU?
A: My favorite thing about being able to play hockey at ASU is being able to play the sport I love with a team that is like a family. Being able to put on an ASU jersey for games and being able to represent my school is pretty cool as well!
What is your favorite hockey memory from ASU?
A: I honestly have so many favorite memories from playing hockey at ASU it’s hard to pick one. A time that really sticks out to me was my junior year when we were on a long game win streak and my line mate mal got a hat-trick against Utah. Everyone was so excited and it was definitely a good time.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind for ASU Women's Hockey?
A: The legacy I hope to leave behind for ASU Women’s Hockey is that it is a place for girls to want to come play hockey. For youth girl players in the valley it is important that they have girls that they can look up to and I think ASU Women’s Hockey is great for this!
Any advice for younger players or players looking to play at ASU?
A: Some advice for younger players that are looking to play at ASU is you can do anything you set your mind to! Make sure you are putting in the work and challenge yourself every step of the way to get where you want to be and make sure you are having fun doing what you love!
What is your plan after graduation?
A: Right now, I am not entirely sure what I want to do post-graduation, but one thing I know for sure is I will be staying in Arizona coaching girl’s hockey to grow the game!
