McGovern Will Join Coaching Staff as Assistant Coach

After a successful career with NCAA DI Minnesota-Duluth, Arizona native, Katie McGovern, is coming back home and will serve as an Assistant Coach for the Sun Devils. As a Bulldog, McGovern was a 3-time WCHA scholar athlete (2014, 2015, 2017), received WCHA Third Team honors in 2017, and was named 2016 Breakthrough Player of the Year. As a team, McGovern helped lead the Bulldogs to a 2017 WCHA Final-Faceoff runner up performance, where they were the first Bulldog team to sweep the Minnesota Gophers since 2010. Throughout the 2016-2017 season, the Bulldogs were ranked #2 in the nation.

McGovern will bring her knowledge and passion of hockey to the Sun Devil bench. Head Coach, Lindsey Ellis, says, "Katie will bring her extensive experience and knowledge of the game and will be a huge asset to our program moving forward. We're very happy and excited to have her as part of our coaching staff."
